Summer 2023 signings

Youri Tielemans coming to the Villa. Pleased as punch about this. Brentan wasted him, be good to see him properly coached. Like to get Harvey Barnes too.

Mac Allister is a great signing for Liverpool, and much cheaper than what I thought he'd cost.

I think he'll do well :)

That's a great free transfer signing. Hoping Newcastle get the Maddison signing over the line soon.

He needs to get a lot fitter. With your midfield I can see him struggling to be first choice.

Yeah, a lot of Leicester fans are also saying he's lost his legs. A further criticism is that he went missing after signing a contract extension a couple of years back but I think he'll have to shape up as McGinn did when Emery came in. He'll give us a lot going forward and increase our creativity. We became a bit too predictable and our goals dried up towards the end of the season. Getting a player of his calibre on a free says something.

He's played first team football since he was 16. He barely missed a game for us in three years.

He needs to sharpen up. A midfield of Luiz, McGinn, Kamara and Ramsey is harder to get past than Ndidi, Mendy and Soumare.

On form he's fine. Off it he's a total passenger.

I imagine Lawnsy wearing a yellow tie for the next few weeks.

Odd one that, Purslow aggrieved. He spunked the Grealish money no?

He got a hell of a lot of stick for the decision to bring “his mate” Gerrard in. He was blamed completely for that decision and it damaged his cred greatly. That undid a lot of good work he did in helping the club stay afloat in the Summer of 2018 and steadying the ship.

He was also evidently not involved in the decision to bring Unai Emery in and he moved to the background since. Tellingly, that he wasn’t involved in the on pitch celebrations after the Brighton home game. There has been talk for a few weeks that he was getting moved on. The Grealish money wasn’t so much a big deal although it was largely thrown away with crap like Bailey and Buendia. It helped the FFP at least.

I like him. He’s smart and a good CEO. Just shouldn’t really be allowed anywhere near making footballing decisions. Villa are moving on with a CEO/Football Director that suits the Head Coach and it’s exciting times.
