Hangovers

Post by Saints11 »

Something we can all relate to I'm sure, and maybe some reading this will be suffering from one.

I'm looking for anecdotal evidence for how best to prepare and recover from a hangover. Its mainly dehydration, so drinking water as you go is an idea, but never quite works. Are there better or worse beers for hangovers? I heard a theory about beers made from rice making hangovers worse, but who knows?

Happy to revel in all your hangover stories and how you got there, and all remedy ideas are welcome to.

Saints i really, really hope when you read this you have a cunt of a hangover. :)

Fill bottles up with diluting juice instead of just water as there some sugar in it.
Get Galpharm Lost Fluid Replacement sachets from the chemist as they have potassium and sodium and other stuff.
Drink green tea with ginger chopped up in it and it helps you pish.

As an alcoholic i can't get out my pit with a hangover because of the heavy shaking and severe liver/pancreas pain without the holy trinity of 5mg Diazepam,7.5 mg zopiclone and 2x dihydrocodeine(all from the doctor) and then and only then i am ready to seize the day !!!
You can only live in the world you know. The rest is just wishful thinking or paranoia.

A friend swears by Dioralyte before sleep for rehydration and that it works. Never tried myself.

I tend to stay in bed and sleep.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Nothing works. Fact.

You can alleviate symptoms, but you'll never stop a hangover.

Paracetamol and a fry up, plus shitloads of fresh orange juice.

When I was younger and would go out on all dayers , I'd take some anadins towards the end of night but whilst still drinking

When got home take another couple before you go bed

Your basically getting rid of your hangover whilst you sleep

Worse part of hangover is the head ache that feels like robin hood has fired an arrow through one temple and it's exit through the other, if that's gone your 75%cured

The rest, bad stomach is made better with food, pizza , kebab if shops open or bacon eggs sandwich followed by half hour on toilet with Sunday paper , I always liked news of the world

I would sit on toilet that long me legs would go numb and I'd try and stand up and collapse on bathroom floor

They was the days!!!

Sid is right, nothing works. Sleep and water helps.
Last hangover, 3 years ago. One bottle of red wine (to myself) followed by two strong cocktails.

Yikes.

I did grow one a few months back, but have cut out sugar, and it did the trick. Got a stomping headache after three days, but felt much better since.

This is the stuff. Chuck it down in a pint of cold water before bed. Works a treat.
I might have done one - not sure but possible.
