The thing that always intrigues me with events of this nature is, (Huw Edwards being one) do the police give the press the information. After all, the raid was at 4am, a time when most people would be in the land of nod, a time chosen, presumably, so that the neighbours might be unaware and the arrest made quietly.

A quick skeg on search shows that most reports are quite detailed as to time, search and items taken away, and the reason for the arrest so it seems, at least to me, that plod has supplied the information.

It's reported that this is a 'historic' incident, which could mean anything. Given that the girl is reported to have been 10 years old at the time, it could well be an incident of a 14 year old lad with a younger girl friend, not unheard of.
No indication of when this is supposed to have happened so it could have been at any time in the past 30 years.

It still seems to me that plod has tipped off the press, something which , if true, is unacceptable.
