Operation Yewtree found credible evidence that junior employees flagged Savile's behaviour as early as 1972 - but the BBC did nothing.
No there weren't
And Management suffered no consequences.
If you detect a paedophile,. it's the police you tell, not "the management"

The BBC management didn't protect the vulnerable young children by telling the police. You don't tell the management
You call the police
Simple really.
Nice of you to be so kind about Esther Rantzen. You must tell us why you like her so much.
I know it spoils the fun a bit but shall we try a few facts?
Savile wasn't specifically a paedophile. He was a serial opportunist assaulter of women.
He did it on older people,as much or more; even, it is thought , the dead.
As there are, strangely, no records, no-one can be sure of how many and where his offences were committed. But it is widely believed he did as much, if not more , at LGI , Stoke Mandeviille and Broadmoor
There must be a thread somewhere ( I have never found it though) about how the management of those institutions allowed him access to the arguably, more vulnerable people they did.
All the steam is about the BBC.
You could almost think someone has an agenda..

Re: Savile/Yewtree/Others (Part 2)
At the time Savile was doing this, it was considered normal for adults to be in the company of children. In voluntary organisations, scouts and guides, sports clubs, schools, childrens homes, the church, youth clubs and all the rest.StirlingCastle wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:11 pmThe BBC didn't engage in Safeguarding and protecting young vulnerable childrenSunbeam Alpine wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 4:57 pmNoStirlingCastle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 10:18 pmThe BBC management didn't protect the vulnerable young children by telling the police. The BBC safeguarded Savile and co
What you call "safeguarding" wasn't considered then.
We know that hundreds of people in those organisations took advantage of this uncontrolled access to abuse children. There have, for example, been dozens of examples of children in care being abused.
Does anyone remember the kids that used to be in the studio with Tarrant and co on Saturday mornings?
The whole "safeguarding" idea is quite recent.
But you expected the BBC to have adopted it fifty years ago.
And you ignore the abuse he practised- more often- on patients he had access to in LGI, Stoke Mandeville and Broadmoor. Indeed his access to Broadmoor was facilitated by one Margaret Thatcher.
This is just a stick to beat the BBC with, while ignoring the rest.

There were numerous enablers of Savile s behaviour. Politicians BBC, Charities, work colleagues , his management. They all need calling out.Sunbeam Alpine wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 11:55 amAt the time Savile was doing this, it was considered normal for adults to be in the company of children. Jimmy Savile had his caravan at BBC television centre where young girls (and some boys) would be sexually assaulted on site.
“The BBC shelved a Newsnight investigation into allegations that Sir Jimmy Savile sexually abused teenage girls at its studios, it has been revealed.”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... ation.html
Mark Thompson - new head of CNN - was running the BBC at this time
Every man and his dog knew about Savile. Safeguarding or whatever it was at the time didn't obviously apply to Savile as far as the BBC were concerned

You clearly don't understand.
Nor do you address the point that his behaviour elsewhere was possibly worse but you make no comment there.
