Been to Goa....doesn't count as "real india" I guess, but even just outside the resorts, the fucking poverty is unreal..I mean literally indescribable filth.
Enjoyed Goa though.Palolem beach is cool as fuck...and it has monkeys!!

Sri Lanka was similar. Not seen poverty like Colombo before or since.Sid Pervcat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 4:35 pmBeen to Goa....doesn't count as "real india" I guess, but even just outside the resorts, the fucking poverty is unreal..I mean literally indescribable filth.

And Africa. I visited a village in Zambia. The school was a makeshift mud hut with Victorian style wooden desks. The locals literally nothing, albeit the clothes on their backs.Sadact7 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 4:01 pmSri Lanka was similar. Ha. Reminds me. Went to a lake outside of Oddanchatram, TN early evening for some beers and snacks. After a while, noticed a 'gang' of monkeys in the distance slowly approaching, over 100m and more adding. Got a bit flustered when about 50m about but locals with were calm. Slowly approaching, only about 25m they started chucikng stones, running after them and shouting. A few, hard or dim, stayed for a bit, but soon ran. No monkeys were harmed and we packed up soon after.Sid Pervcat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 4:35 pmBeen to Goa....doesn't count as "real india" I guess, but even just outside the resorts, the fucking poverty is unreal..I mean literally indescribable filth.
