Virgin Radio approached Danny Baker to do something, but there was no money, how can they afford Chris Evans then.
I like Danny Baker, his show on 5Live on a Saturday is OK, but he really plays some good music with the stories to go with it.
I am surprised he hasn't popped up on any of the talkSTATIONS as yet.

It was probably his buddy Chris that asked him.

I bet he's a real bastard to work with.

Baker used to be superb.
Way past his best now but still miles better than almost everything on TS.

He had a show with Danny Kelly on a saturday mornings a few years ago. Baker was taking the piss out of tS in his usual garrulous manner. Powers that be didn't like it and it was soon canned.

Nowhere near as influential or beloved as he thinks he is.
He was pitching Scarlett Moffatt as the future of TV not long back for gods sake.

He was last on tS (then talkradio) in the last century.
Baker and Kelly did Saturday mornings on 5 live for half a footie season shortly after that, then briefly on Virgin and then they had an online version of their shows for a few months in 2007. Other than the BT Sport TV series, not sure they've done shows together for well over a decade now.

He mentioned on twitter that he's about to record a new podcast series with an old colleague. Fingers crossed it's DK.

Re: Danny Baker
Baker strikes me as one of those people who likes to stress their working class credentials but in reality probably has a bit of contempt for the average Joe.

Turns out to be Lineker, a pity. Not listening to that insufferable cunt opine on anything.
