Went a bit wild (in Waterstones) and bought :
Could go either way - a couple of years ago I was reading about 2/3 books a month, but this year I think I've read about 5 for the year - so these will be finished by the year's end or 2020.

Good man, Finchy.
I did a few over the weekend - Carn Gheal and A' Mharconaich (outside Dalwhinnie, near Newtonmore) and An Caisteal near Loch Lomond.
Never climbed the paps, would love to of course

Some fine looking books there, Kevin. Heard the word 'paps' as breasts, and 'baps' obviously, never knew Old Norse maybe. Fom Mr Wiki:
Reading this, interesting, chap does love Ronnie though:The word pap is an ancient word of Old Norse origin for the breast
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Good luck, Eddie, still sitting on a shelf somewhere. Reminds me of a film I saw somtime. Not even referenced on English Mr Wiki and barely anything on IMDb. 'Drop-out Father' starring old Dick van Dyke as a dad protesting about life and family who took to his bedroom to read 'War and Peace' See a rare article here: http://www.nytimes.com/1982/09/27/arts/ ... ml?mcubz=3
Even youtube has little. Someone on TF must remember it like I do?:
Anyway. Another charity shop bargain in hardback, £1.50:
Benji the binman. Lot of a loon, a sad man, but smart as well. Only a few chapters in and onto Reg Dwight, but he's already got sex pest Max Clifford on tape lying. Won't watch this which was earlier I think, but even watching the first minute shows Benji is a bit of an err character:
Had a bit of an Amazon splurge on some bad world prison books for research.

Re: Currently Reading
Pell book was very interesting though and maybe the author had to, was padded with transcripts of court cases and McVicar documentary and the Jones film.
Some fascinating parts including seeing his psychiatrist pre-trial to try to persuade him to say he's a nutter and when he broke the Bloody Sunday inquiry leaks and was shitting himself he might get done by the provos or secret service. Worth a read, a Carlos 6/10. Then watched the McVicar documentary and pieces things nicely though avoids Bloody Sunday.
Onwards to my world prison splurges next:

I'm currently reading The Big Heist: The Real Story of the Lufthansa Heist, the Mafia, and Murder by Anthony's M Destefano
Fascinating!
Henry Hill before he died Co wrote a book on the Lufthansa heist but over the years I've taken everything Hill has said with a pinch of salt and so took no interest in his book

A big 500+ pager, a fifth through, still building up, could be tighter, but enough interest to perservere, though always perservere. Will always finish a book, though as per Kundera's 'Immortality' defeated me. But a combination of circumstances and still will finish when time.tennisman wrote:Good stuff, Carlos.
Let us know what you think.
Anyway, so after Nesbø, probably next week, will do Hamilton, then Landis. Do you know or have you read the two I linked to? They're next on the list.
TM. On my charity shop travels this morning bought four more Nesbø for a fiver. Three Harry Hole: 'Nemesis', 'The Devil's Star' and 'The Leopard', plus one standalone, 'Headhunters'. Will get into them in the new year.

Terrific reads (as JWOTS might say), Carlos.
You might end up feeling like a shrink after all that time spent with Harry Hole and his dark character!
