Watching these quarters, makes you realise that if England had a bit more self belief, upped their tempo, and cut out the negative shite, they could actually win it. Portugal and Morroco are dire.

As much as it can be an irksome watch, Southgate’s policy has been borne out by Moroccan and Croatian results.

In knockout games, if you don’t concede then you don’t lose.

I think you can be strong and tight in defence, and still attack with pace and positivity.

I think if we sit back France will do us.

I think we’ll steadily but cautiously get out shit together and take a first half lead.
