Pochettino

Post by Sunbeam Alpine »

This recently posted on Facebook. Not by a Liverpool fan.

It really questions Pochettino's calibre . I think maybe he gets away with stuff because he seems like a nice chap

This is a sort of Man United related post as it"s related to Gary Neville's nauseating obsession with serial loser Mauricio Pochettino (or Pinnochio as I call him).
Apparently he "improves players".
That is pure fantasy from the clueless Sky Sports brigade which includes the two "Jamie's Carragher and Redknapp who are almost as bad as Ratboy".
Name one player at Southampton, Spurs, PSG and Chelsea he's actually improved?
There are none. At Southampton he left a host of potentially good players like Shaw, Chambers and Lallana get over weight. Shaw and Chambers remain Wayne Rooney level over weight and it took Jürgen Klopp months to turn Lallana from a Juan Mata level luxury into a super fit pressing monster. Klopp ran the legs off him. That is how easy it was.
Remember at Spurs he inherited good players like Walker, Llorus and Kane. With the exception of Son none of his other signings were quality. Every manager signs one quality player. Clueless Koeman signed Virgil and Steve Bruce signed Andy Robertson. So why the Pochettino love in saying he "signs quality".
He finished 2nd at PSG despite having Neymar and Mbappe and the so called "pauper and poor mouth" has had £425 million in 2023 to spend at Chelsea.
He's an absolute joke and I had Liverpool fans try to put it down my neck he's a quality manager. He's an Argentine Steve Bruce. I used to call him "Moyes with a Spanish accent" but that is unfair on Moyes. Hopefully he replaces Erik Ten Excuses the bald Solksjaer as Man

The article has a serious flaw that TF's LiverpoolFootballClub apologist seems to have missed out .

Harry Kane spent most of his Tottenham career out on loan until Poch arrived in 2014 .

I think it's fair to say Kane improved immensely under Pochettino .

It certainly didn't come from a Liverpool website.

Overall, we'd be happy if he stayed there and continued to fail.. as per Ten Hag.

There is no way to be sure but what is said is factual, and could be seen by most people interested in football. Could have been written by millions, including Chelsea fans.

I'd be happy if he stayed, as in Ten Hag's case.

You would have to be an extraordinary manager to succeed at Chelsea, which he is not. The owner knows nothing about football, and shows no desire to learn. But expects to do the manager's job. I recall making much the same points when they sacked Potter.

Utter bollocks to state Pochettino never improved players at Southampton and Spurs. His ability to do this was one of his strong points.

Dropping Lucas Moura who scored the hat trick that got them to the champions league final and playing an unfit Harry Kane instead was a horrendous decision. There was also the finishing 3rd in a 2 horse race farce tbf.
