Good luck Charles

Seems Charles has cancer and I wish him the very best of luck.
Now officially more entertaining than Talksport.

I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make Birdie. I mean he is, y’know, the king and what have you.birdie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:08 pm More to the point, good luck to the thousands of poor beggars who are having to wait weeks, if not months, to even see a cancer specialist, let alone get treatment within months instead of days.
I hear he's going as an out patient, hospital unspecified, but my bet is the Mount Vernon, but what's the betting he's been shoved above some poor mere mortal.
That's a disgraceful thing to say, I'm assuming, then, that if YOU were the Mr Smith down the road you'd say, 'OK, teat him instead of me, I don't matter'.Sadact7 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:29 pmI’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make Birdie. I’m no monarchist, but it strikes me that it’s probably more important for the nation as a whole that the reigning head of state is treated than Mr Smith down the road.
Fucking hell, at the very least we won’t have to shell out for another fucking funeral and coronation. The cost of all them sausage rolls, cocktail sticks and vol-au-vents would really start to add up
To be honest, I thought my final paragraph was a clue that I may not have been entirely serious.birdie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:38 pmThat's a disgraceful thing to say, I'm assuming, then, that if YOU were the Mr Smith down the road you'd say, 'OK, teat him instead of me, I don't matter'.Sadact7 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:29 pmI’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make Birdie. Like hell you would.
I was just pointing out the difference between some being able to get treatment at the drop of a hat and 'those who don't matter' having to wait, sometime so long, that they die before they get treated.
Many private hospitals don't have specialised caner departments, Charles is most likely to be treated at the best cancer hospital which just happens to be Mount Vernon and he's in London.chelseachelsea wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:55 pm Birdie, I don't think Charles is being treated by the NHS, best private care in the land surely.
I should just say, I’m truly sorry that you lost your husband and I didn’t mean to cause you any upset. If I’d known that beforehand I wouldn’t have been quite so flippant with my comments.birdie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 10:06 pmMany private hospitals don't have specialised caner departments, Charles is most likely to be treated at the best cancer hospital which just happens to be Mount Vernon and he's in London.chelseachelsea wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:55 pm Birdie, I don't think Charles is being treated by the NHS, best private care in the land surely.
My comments were meant to show the difference between how some people are treated as opposed to others.
I speak a someone whose husband died from prostate canter, 4 hospitals missed it, I got the diagnosed on the 4th December, he died on the 4th Feb, it was his anniversary yesterday, so perhaps I'm not too thrilled that he was Mr Smith down the road who didn't matter.
