Re: Suicide
Each situation is different
But far from easy I would think
Imagine the despair or confusion or how down someone is for them to get to that stage
I wish they could be saved

Re: Suicide
I just get the impression it's easy.
A few pills and then just fall asleep or a walk up the top of a car park and just keep on walking when you get to the top.

Re: Suicide
You can only imagine what is in someone's mind before they take their own life. They have decided that to cease to exist, is a better option than continuing to live. It's by no means the easy option imo, it's one made by someone who's mind has been in a high state of confusion and desperation, but not at the moment of the act.
I used to work with someone who jumped off a high rise tower block, and during the day before he jumped, you wouldn't have known he had the slightest problem.

by that point, it is easy. Mind is made up to end the pain.Zambo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 6:43 pm You can only imagine what is in someone's mind before they take their own life. Re: Suicide
I think that when the person carries out the act, they probably are in a state of calm and have a certain peace of mind. However, getting to that position will have been far from easy.

Re: Suicide
Getting to the pointlessness of existence, in my mind, is very easy. Is where you go from here.

Re: Suicide
During the pandemic, one of my best friends tried to commit suicide after suffering a psychotic break. A member of the public, whom she nicknames "superman", saved her life. She doesn't know his real name. The authorities treated her terribly (surprise, surprise) but, fortunately, she came out the other side. The NHS were pretty good.

Re: Suicide
I have had two relatives who attempted suicide, the first one, an aunt, ranng me to ask me to look after her kids, strange, I thought, both in their late twenties so I made a phone call and the police and ambulance broke down the door and saved her life.
The second one was my sister, who just did it and was found dead, so I don't know what went through their minds, but one thing I do know, it's bloody traumatic for those left b behind to pick up the pieces.

Jeez, sorry for your loss.
Generally speaking men are usually more "successful" as they pick the more violent method but women suffer from more psychological disorders, one does not necessarily lead to the other.

Re: Suicide
Easy option in what respect?
That question can't really be answered objectively.
Are you talking opting out of life?
Assisted dying?
Avoiding the consequences of your actions?

That's terrible for you and your family, birdie.

Re: Suicide
I don't kid myself, and never did. For almost half my life I wanted to go to sleep and not wake up, but I knew that I'd never actually end my life by my own hand.
I'm glad I didn't ... it wasn't so bad, as it turned out, but fuck me, all those years of catatonic despair, staring at the ceiling wanting to die that night.
Still, there you go.

Re: Suicide
You stared at the ceiling in the mornings and wanted to go to sleep. To be fair, that’s much of the population at this time of year. Don’t think that’s suicidal thoughts.JimmyDee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 11:51 am I don't kid myself, and never did.
