Middlesbrough v Chelsea
Liverpool v Fulham
The semi-final first legs will be played during week beginning 8 January, with the second legs taking place in week beginning 22 January. Nothing to lose for Boro.

And who was the idiot who rolled away clutching his face?
It's for the referee to apply sanctions, not a player who wasn't even involved in the incident.

West Ham might have just as well brought deck chairs last night.
Looked like they expected a hammering from the start.
Good goal from Bowen. I see why Klopp rates him.

But you called for a red card. Are you the referee?Sunbeam Alpine wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 11:32 amyes I did.chelseachelsea wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 6:45 pmBlinded by his hatred of anything Chelsea. The Ghost of Alex Higgins wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 5:18 pm I guess you didn't see the "tackle" he was reacting to?

The ref committed a cardinal sin. He lost his temper. He also hates United and supports Liverpool, although he pretends to be a Newcastle supporter.

There has been constant argument on here about refereeing consistency.
On Sunday Dalot was sent off for 2 yellow cards in the space of a minute. For talking back.
On Tuesday a player grabbed another by the throat and got lesser punishment.
Doesn't make sense.

Re: League/Carabao Cup 23/24
Sure it does, there was no VAR in that cup game so loads was missed.
Anyhow, Dalot's sending off was about stamping out persistant insolence especially towards the ref.
Bruno was perhaps lucky not to be red carded himself after that attempted assault on the smallest player on the pitch and it looks like he was grabbed by the collar of his shirt rather than throat.
Handbags all around, good to see a player stick up for his team mate in that regard.

Cole Palmer doing a Nunez in front of goal. Good player weaving in and out. Crap finisher.

Palmer should have 2 at least, if not the match ball.
