At least it was better than Burnham managed (26%) but it doesn't stop Labour crowing and getting a stiffy about it.

No one is saying that a victory shouldn't be celebrated, but when you look at the turnout it's obvious that the voters just don't care who is mayor and couldn't be arsed.

A bit like celebrating a win in a one horse race, inevitable.
