I assume the new design was approved by whoever, so if it was an Englishman, shame on you.

MSM and of course Social media. Starting to think they’re now just feeding each other and egging each other on.
Journalists are now 'content creators'. Fucking pathetic isn't it.

I've seen a picture of the back of a shirt with what is, I assume, the flag of St George not in its usual form.

The change is described by the FA as a 'playful update', what a fucking feeble excuse, the FA fucked up and should remove the shirts from sale, but, of course they wont, and the feeble minded who just have to have the latest version whatever it costs, will buy it just the same,.

Today there is outrage at a bit of embroidery on a football kit.

Please make it stop. I want to get off.
Who's outraged and why?

Edit - Just seen it. A lot of seething going on. Joey Barton and Chris Sutton are upset, so not all bad. If people don't like it don't buy the fucking shirt.

Next up the horizontal line on the Scottish flag is being changed to pink. What you say Ally?

It isn't a question of 'if people don't like it don't buy the fucking shirt.' it's a question of disrespect for England's flag, the flag which we rally around and should respect, not playfully update at will as a marketing gimmick.

That's up to them. They take the marketing risk. Instead of whining about, just don't buy it. The message then is it was stupid to do it. Disrespect to the flag? Who cares.

Clearly not the FA or Nike.

But why the heck did they do it in the first place, nothing wrong with the flag the way it was.

Agree, but it's a small motif on the back of the collar. No one one will even notice it. Most will be put off with the rip off price anyway I would imagine.

The FA must of agreed on the design, I don't see a problem with it. If people don't like it they don't have to buy it, I suspect most of the folks moaning wouldn't buy one anyway.

When the shirt was first revealed earlier in the week, I thought it was quite a decent one. Wouldn't buy it as too much and too old for replica kits.

Heard a bit of 5Live earlier amd lots of anger and a few references to fighting and wars back to the middle ages. Some of those people will do themselves a mischief.

Symbols are important, though. Don't try and pretend they aren't.
The swastika, for example. The Hammer and Sickle. The Stars and Stripes. The Palestine flag. The captain's arm-band. The rainbow laces.
That's why we have symbols, to sum up a complicated thing into a simple thing.

Fuck around with the Cross of St George and you're fucking around with Englishness.

Is anyone surprised or shocked, though?
It's all to go viral on Twitter, as ad-twats often desire. Oooh! That will be controversial!

If this were the lowest-selling shirt in the history of shirts I wouldn't be heartbroken. Fuck you, F.A. for giving Nike that design-brief and signing it off.

How does anyone justify paying £124.99 for a fecking T shirt.
I know fans will pay through the nose but surely this is taking the piss.

Yes, I am guilty of wearing a Lions Tour shirt which my daughter came home with, she presented it to me along with the receipt so I wouldn't blow my top at her being stupid for forking out shedload, £10 from JD Sports which was quite reasonable.
Off topic I know but I was wearing it to go shopping and as a chap passed me he called out 'Up the Lion's. On another occasion a young chap commented, 'nice shirt', turned out he was a Saracens supporter.

How much does the new England kit cost?
The new authentic England shirt costs £124.99 in adult sizes and £119.99 for kids (for both home and away).

However, you can also buy a replica version of both for £84.99 for adults and £64.99 for kids.

Even so, is it worth £125 for a T shirt?
