"UK food firms beg ministers to let them use prisoners to ease labour shortages"
Brilliant idea. Prisoners in chain gangs picking fruit and veg in the fields. Who needs immigrant workers?
And massive treadmills could generate electricity and ease energy/pollution problems.

When a group of local naughties on cummunity service were brought in to clear overgrown paths, our neighbour insisted on referring to them as 'the convicts'. The matching yellow outerwear may have given him that impression.
They weren't convicts but I'd bet a lot that a good number of them soon would be.
