There's no poem, just prose.

At least he said something right today:

“They were heroes—heroes who’ve been engaged in a dangerous, selfless mission to save the lives of others.”

A "real" meeting, you say?
Must be one where they take the crayons off him.

That was a blundering embarrassment of a performance. So much so it's difficult to know where to start.
Him dragging his dead son (not Hunter, unfortunately) into it as if he'd been killed in action? He died of cancer. The dead one who last week at a press conference he couldn't remember if he was a major in the army or a captain in the navy.

Yet again another admission that he - the president - had been given a list of friendly journos (aren't they all?) who he was "instructed" to call on. And he ballixed that up too.

The sudden reconversion to religion. His rosary beads must have turned up somehow. Quoting something from the Book of Eye-zay-ah. I'm no biblical scholar, obviously, but I've never heard of that one. Must be one the gnostic gospels or something.

The interminable fumbling of the pages at the end of the statement while mumbling to himself. He either lost his train of thought, though more of a bus of thought with this dribbling cretin, or lost the feed into his ear of what to say next.
Or both.

Him inadvertently giving Trump full credit for not losing the life of an American serviceman for 18months until today's tragic Bidenocolypse.

Him looking old, feeble and utterly broken.

And much much more.
Proud Gammon

RIP Neil Peart 1952-2020.

+1 This 👆🏻

A Freudian slip or the onset of dementia. He didn’t mean a 'real' meeting. He said 'for real', as in trying to convince the audience he had a forthcoming meeting. Goodness knows why we needed to know this info.

Talaban currently flavour of the month until they start shooting those who didn't make it out, persecuting all females, raping some of them and bringing all afghans back to their previous middle ages existance.
Even then ISIS-K are worse.

I don't think they are the flavour of the month, I think they are just playing nice until everyone fucks off.

On a side note, not sure if you heard but when the staff in the British Embassy fucked off, they left behind loads of CVs of people who had applied to work for them and lists of every Afghan who had a connection with them. Brilliant bit of planning not to ensure that the Taliban doesn’t track them down and torture and murder them and their families, eh? The Foreign Office and MOD seem to have a fair share of incompetent halfwits. Have to say that current and ex soldiers are trying desperately to secure safe passage of those still stranded but can’t see the Taliban being lenient and letting them leave.

Horrible situation to be in for those who are going to be stuck in the country beyond the next few hours.

In normal times ministers would quit.
