SUBTEXT: I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO DO LATIN AT SCHOOL

Such a chip on your shoulder. What a shame.
Disagree with you and I've got a chip on my shoulder
No, you don't have a chip on your shoulder because you disagree with me.
You have a chip on your shoulder because of the childish way you dismiss the subject, calling it 'poncy' and for 'nobs and snobs'. That says far more about you than anything else, unfortunately.
You obviously don't know what it means anyway, but you and the likes of Hillman continue to look down your noses at anyone who disagrees with you, thinking you are on a higher moral and social plain than some of the rest of us. Give yourself a break every so often, and don't believe what you think is right every time.

That says more about you than anything else, unfortunately, but it's still funny. Latin doesn't seem to have done much for you does it!?

*yawn*
You're the one who came steaming in, informing us how Latin is a waste of time, showing that you don't really know what you're talking about.
I merely challenged you, Zambo, and the aggressive, childish way you've responded shows that you're incapable of discussing things in a mature, reasonable way.

Don't just take my word for it, see what Don says. I think I like point 10 best.

I'm sure you do, because it echoes the class-war stuff you've already posted, which doesn't really move the conversation along; it just reveals your prejudices.

No thanks, I already know why some people believe that it's a good idea to teach Latin in all schools, I just don't agree with them, and it's high time you accepted that without all of the silly bickering and accusations of prejudice. You'll be saying that I think Lewis Hamilton is a cunt because of being prejudiced next.

By "silly bickering", you mean "disagreeing with someone".
You're the one who tried to derail this thread with daft comments about Latin being "poncy".
Comments like that don't really move the discussion along, do they?

I think we should leave it there subsub. You've already got you're own thread in Pandy because you can't keep this shit over there. I can open up another for us if that isn't enough, just say the word. We both know what we think of each other, so it's pointless going on. Moreover, I don't want to wade through a dozen reports from you and The Tick.

Everyone wants to have the last word, don't they? Hence the endless bickering.
I have "Jim's Rule Of Three", which states that once I've made the same point three times, in replying to ... err .. replies, then I'll let it drop, even if by not making the Fourth Reply they think they've "won". It's good for my sanity, and the board.
