Not long until the start of the hundred cricket league. I think it’s in terrestrial tv which is good, and will show make and female
Teams. Is it good for cricket to attract casual fans? I know 20 20 has been a big success at northants where they get big crowds , which the county championship rarely does. There does seem to be a lot of cricket all year round with the big bash in Australia and the ipl

I don't see what this will do to attract fans that T20 doesn't do.

Forgot about this. Is it still going ahead because of the pandemic? Dumbing down in sport it’s most terrible form.
It’s not going to attract casual fans and I don’t think there’s much revenue in it if it does. I hope it fails.

We need a bi-annual Test World Cup. Straight knockout, using Top ranked 6 nations and 2 qualifiers.

Test cricket doesn’t fit in with the modern age. Playing for 5 days and you still end up with a draw. No wonder Americans don’t get cricket. I think the hundred will appeal to the youth and diverse communities which is good, with its colourful outfits and big sponsors.

Why doesn’t it fit into the modem age? The point is it has retained it’s excitement and my rogue for well over a hundred years. It’s evolved and with other sports has analysts, psychologists, dietitians and other specialists so is changing all the times.
Who cares about the Americans anyway with theyr World Series which comprises of err the US. I love test cricket.

Americanised crap. Equivalent of 16/17 overs of thrashing and bonking the ball all over the shop.

I think that the 100 is far too similar to 20/20, which is incredibly successful already.theleader82 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:07 pm Test cricket doesn’t fit in with the modern age. I don't see why we need another format which is virtually the same.

I think it would be good a 20 /20 competition was on terrestrial tv on a Friday night, similar to the big bash. It would be a big boost for the game.subsub wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:22 pmI think that the 100 is far too similar to 20/20, which is incredibly successful already.theleader82 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:07 pm Test cricket doesn’t fit in with the modern age. In what way would it be a boost for the game which 20/20 isn’t? There are only limited ways you can reinvent the game. Let’s face it, the kind of people that the game seems to think it needs to cater for in Hundreds cricket, they’re only going to be a five minute wonder and will lose interest when Scooby Doo or TOWIE comes on the telly.theleader82 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:25 pmI think it would be good a 20 /20 competition was on terrestrial tv on a Friday night, similar to the big bash. Of course, we've never had colourful clothing and big sponsors before.theleader82 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:07 pm Test cricket doesn’t fit in with the modern age. Re: The Hundred (cricket)
Ben Stokes last wicket stand in 3rd Test in the 2019 Ashes is a perfect example of how good Test Cricket can be , and much more satisfying than
a limited-overs win. Though how can the Ashes be seen as the pinnacle of cricket when it is only open to 2 teams ?

Just ia shit version of T20 which is very popular and does get crowds in, and attracts new cricket fans, kancut. One hopes they migrate to the longer game.
Good that it is on terrestrial TV, and test cricket still remains massively popular here as a spectator sport.
Nowt more fun than guessing the first time a fan is ejected. My standard is 2.21pm.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.
