My Old man was at Scampton, then Waddington.

His mate Died when a Lincoln (later model Lancaster) crashed in fog near Scampton.

I installed the flooring at the new building for operating the spy drones at RAF Waddington a few years back. Small world.

Always enjoyed working on RAF bases, they always seemed a decent lot.

Dad also RAF.
He was at Sealand by Chester, then we were in Scotland for a bit at Leuchars.
Mum hated Leuchars, much windy and very cold.

They are strange, you feel like you’re in a time warp when you’re there (or at least I did).

The oldest one I Think, is RAF Digby. Remember hiring a van to take by brother-in-law up there for his first posting.

I watched "The Dambusters" the other week, but only so I could complain that they never said Nigger.
