Ha. I only tuned in at half time to see the goals, three of which were awful. Anyway, now 5-0 to England.

Only three?

Must be a far higher average standard of play tonight then.

The only reason anybody would tune in to watch the dumpy munters cosplaying at being footballers would be a furiously stubborn refusal to accept how shit it is.

I watched the “Manchester Derby” the other week (well the first half at least). Absolutely diabolical stuff. The United womens team were nearly as bad as the men.

Ha. Shades of Aguero and Man U. England finished and in the centre circle and the Netherlands score to make it 4-0 so no England in the Nations League finals and no Team GB at the Olympics. Yay.

Surprised there's much audience left considering it's way past bed time.

Have hardly watched any women's football but thought I'd take a peek at today's FA Cup match between Arsenal an Man C.

Just coming up to half time and have had more than enough. Have been trying to draw a comparison between standards v the men's game, and would seriously put it in the senior category of parks football and no higher.

I have no idea how it attracts as much interest as it does.

I have a look mainly to see crowds. Here's a site with them and apart from the Arse at the Emirates skewing it, the results aren't great: https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/wome ... ttendances

Wow, the Arsenal attendance is excellent, although baffling. Maybe the players have large families. :D

Leicester City attendances were particularly poor espeically as I think they were playing just about all their games at the big boy's stadium whereas the Arse and others only occasionally play at their main stadia. You know what gooners are like, they'd support a used tampon if it had a social media profile. Tbf they do market their ladies team hard and keep prices low, last time I looked an adult plus child was about £20 and if you buy season tickets it's alot less.

It isn't a great standard when compared to the mens game I agree but there are some good players. I usually keep an eye on the comments section of newspaper articles as a litmus test but it never attracts a great deal, I guess school girls don't read newspapers so that might not be fair.

The argument is that you really shouldn't compare it as it's a different game, not tribal but inclusive and therein lies the problem in attracting support for the club game. The Lionesses will probably always attract support and high attendances because of the hype that now always surrounds them, a league or cup game on a cold school night in the suburbs not so much.

As ant says, they have a few games at the Emirates and prices are cheaper than men though going up.

A bit more here, Lady Brady was on TS saying no teams make a profit, hence no West Ham games at the London Stadium and the big grounds also get more football tourists: viewtopic.php?p=1747622#p1747622

A pisspoor crowd for England v Austria in Algeciras. Looks like a few hundred.

Meant to be their warm weather training, but even though a bit rainy, think they could have got a few more ex-pats from Gibraltar.

Finally, a story about a woman footballer hidden away in the other bits sections. Would a trial involving a similarly high profile male be so low profile ?
