The best Rebus book was about the I.R.A and U.V.F getting diamonds because you can use them as currency and clam them down.
Then BANG things in the Helicopter fall and scatter like high level documents or Diamonds.
The whole book is based on this.

Which one is that, Roddy?
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Cheers, Roddy. A few quid on Amazon, will have a check of the local charity shops first, always have a few Rankin.

Supporting local charities, Roddy and giving life to lost and fallen books.

Why pay 1p and £2.80 postage when can get it for 50p down the road? Err, you as a Scotchman should understand that. ;)
Donald was so mean, when his suit needed cleaned he donated it to a charity shop - and bought it back when they had cleaned and pressed it.
Err. :)

First Franzen book I've read - about 35 pages left - and fairly enjoyed it - and going by reviews, it isn't his best, yet I've strolled through it. Always meant to read The Corrections and probably will next.

Short snippets of US history. Perfect toilet reading and very short. I've made my own history book - full of inaccuracies and skipping decades - of countries, but if I wasn't so dumb nor lazy, I'd like to make a book like this - History for people who can't be arsed, but want to know the basics.

Good luck with Franzen! Just d/l'd the new Rankin book 'Rather Be The Devil'. I rarely read fiction so I'm not sure if it is good or bad, but it's easy to read and engaging. Rebus is retired and loafing around going through old cases, with Siobhian asking him advice about a new case...

Good post - thanks.

That's my next read sorted then. Didn't realise there was a new one out.
I might have done one - not sure but possible.

My mum bought this for my birthday. Which was nicely unexpected.

Chernobyl 01:23:40: The Incredible True Story of the World's Worst Nuclear Disaster

Just got into it. Liking it so far, but I do love a bit of disaster non-fic-lit with some science I can get my head around. Nicely written so far ...
