It's irrelevant whether you are a proper musician or not - who decrees what constitutes a proper musician? Mark Knopfler might be an accomplished and technically superb guitarist but I'd probably prefer to hear someone banging out a simple three chord number with real energy and enthusiasm.

And if you put the right three chords in the right order you can make as brilliant a piece of music as anything that involves complex chordal patterns and fancy key changes.

Nash was alright "back in the day" until she dyed her hair black and started yelling about muh feminism, and like, 'cos I'm like, bi-sexual. I still enjoy listening to her early stuff, though. The song 'Mariella' is wonderful.

It's great, m4rk. Jonny Mattock, the drummer deserves a medal for that. Sonic, live after Spacemen 3 still used to tape down keys and fuck off the stage. Always good.

I like to give credit where it's due and that's definitely one unique composition by the band itself and not from another pop production line - which is where all this shit is coming from.

One chord for 20 mins definitely requires some fine support from the rest of the band

True, m4rk, though it is old, Just added it because if Lou mentioning chords and I love to shoehorn Spacemen 3 into music threads.

Look them up, only four studio albums, all different and brilliant, and some live and demo stuff about. Not sure if good or bad that the excellent 'Big City' was on 'The Simpson's':

At least half of each is very good.
