Why have some of the events taken place before the opening ceremony ?

Button up, you :x

I thought it had already started and tuned in expecting to see some thrilling sporting action against an backdrop of spectacular Alpine mountain scenery and a bleak winter landscape innit.

Instead it was wall to wall Eddie the fucking Eagle :box:

Alpine scenery?

You are aware that the Games is being held in South Korea?

Some of the events were on this morning.... snowboarding and figure skating. At around 8am.

That’s too early for me.

Ok... but don't you think it's odd that some of the events took place before the opening ceremony ?

I most certainly do.

I have never heard of such a thing, Dan.

South Korea?

Why would they be holding them there?

Do they even have mountains in South Korea?

So much of London 2012 is seared in the memory forever. Great Britain 1 (Bellamy) Senegal 1 in front of 72,000 at Old Trafford is not.

Jamie Nicholls got big air and then fell. :) Mistress Shadenfreude on point as always. :)

Had a great time at 2012, Holden. Err Ricoh, Wemberley x3, Excel, Earls Court RIP* and a bit of Hyde Park. As Hawwksbee noted today, that London was nice for a month then.

* Our friends on 28dayslater at Earls Court. Sad scenes: :( https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/earls-cou ... 015.t96068

This is why the Winter Olympics is far superior to it's Summer cousin. It's more fuckin' chilled. Fewer primadonna's prancing around in lycra acting like billy-big-bollocks. As for drugs, I think the winter olympics should allow drugs, as a trial.

I was looking purely out of curiosity if anyone had ever won medals at both the Summer AND Winter olympiads. There are five. What made me laugh was that there is only one person ever to medal at both games IN THE SAME YEAR (before the games were staggered) ... A German 'lady' in the 1980s. No drugs there then .... haha.

When's the figure skating? I do love thoe Russian girls ... If we only had Russian correspondent to inform us of Russian ice skaters! (Gymnasts and Ballerina's also)...
