The evil patriarchy has conspired to make sure Serena fails at another Grand Slam . The injustice of it all.

Ashleigh Barty became the first Australian woman to reach the semi-finals at her home Grand Slam for 36 years .

The last Australian woman to reach the semi-finals in the singles at Melbourne Park was Wendy Turnbull in 1984, who was the most recent finalist from the home nation in 1980.

The last Aussie Open home winner was Chris O'Neil in 1978 .

Very very unlikely it will go ahead I would have thought. The cricket season won’t start here until at least July. French Open yet bitten the dust. Murray is better sticking with self publicising bollocks like Red Nose Day and Question of Sport to make himself look a little more interesting.

According to Lisa O'Sullivan, we've just had a game last over 6 hours. Wonder how many deuces there were?

Of course, she meant MATCH.

But I've added her to the group of commentary criminals for tennis, headed by the avuncular John Inverdale who freely talks about games when he should be talking about matches.

Still, I know, I know, it doesn't matter. Everyone know what she meant.

PS Just spotted that Villa have beaten Fulham 3-Love.
