SJ seems to have mastered the Roger Moore eyebrow raise quite well.

If he had a solo show on TS he'd insist on it being called something like 'Straight Talking with Simon Jordan'.

Or "Simon Says" ?

He does seem to have a level of morality to him. Which is clearly why he ultimately failed in football.

Great show as always guys, with 'Dutch' Holland in for Psycho.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

There'll all salivating now that they can give it the rather predictable line about Moyes and Pearce not taking any prisoners, getting them fit, stopping them 'lounging around' etc.

We revert to 1950's muddy pitches, hob nailed boots and a loathing of coaching at the first opportunity it seems.

They'll all be okay when they all 'put in a shift'.

Which is what will be required next season when they are battling it out at Barnsley on a cold Tuesday night in January.

ha ha.

Yes, indeed.

Went to Oakwell once whilst up that way in the mid 90's and saw a local derby against Huddersfield Town - very good match, early season on a pristine pitch.

Always felt a bit of a link to the Tykes after that and shouted at the radio in the car once when Parry stated that it was bad for the image of the FA Cup when they got to the Semi-Final.

Man of the people and the lower league sides, Parry argued that it would be bad for overseas perceptions of the competition if 'clubs like Barnsley' did well and got to the latter stages.

Parry was voicing an early example of the image / money driven approach to the game where ill understood and inappropriately used marketing phrases like 'selling the brand' were becoming more important than upholding the essence of the game, like smaller teams doing well in Cup competitions.

Bad for the image of the competition, my arse.

Not long after, Barnsley spent a season in the PL!

PS Does DK know that since 2011, Wales is called a country and not a principality?

Proper football stadiums in Yorkshire, Huddersfield's old Leeds Road ground was a classic.

This must have been after Parry used to make out he was a Chester City fan, he was onto Everton by then....
