England 100 - 1 in the women's test in Sydney. Batter's paradise.
Meanwhile another injury for the men - Jake Ball the latest bowling casualty. Even a bowler down the men are cruising against a poor Cricket Australia XI.

Anderson missed the next test and Broad was the spearhead of the bowling attack. He didn't take a single wicket
In 26 tests since then he's taken 5 wickets in an innings just once.

Excellent bowling from Woakes, good to see him in the groove.

Frustrating, but won't do them any harm in getting more practice bowling under floodlights for when they play the second test there.

Dropped catches, poor umpiring decisions (surprised there's no DRS) and the class of the Australian middle order mean that England are going to get a draw at best in this test match. Pitch being a road also doesn't help for getting a result in a 4 day match.
Looks highly unlikely the women will be bringing the Ashes back home for England.

9 wickets down. Ellyse Perry on 194. Hits a six and celebrates her double century. Bat raised. Takes off helmet and kisses the badge. Crowd going wild. Then the TV replay shows it dropped inches short of the boundary.
Got the double century an over later, but that could've been awkward if she hadn't.

The Decision Review Process has shown up how poor the umpires are, just as the Video Assistant Referee will in football. They brought it in to help officials, but hopefully it will make them and authorities alike, realise how much improvements are necessary.
Australia Ashes squad: (possible) Steven Smith (capt), David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird
