Looking forward to it but, for me, it won't beat the John Mills film.

Possibly the only film I will go to the cinema to see this year.
My grandad was there. And went back at Normandy on D Day.

I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895

I remember seeing a pre-release showing of Saving Private Ryan, so I had no idea what to expect.
It was in that really big cinema in Leicester Square which has a massive screen and fantastic sound.
The opening segment when they land under fire was so overwhelming and extraordinary that I was affected by it for hours afterwards.
It really is worth seeing films like this on a proper screen.

We saw it there when it was on general release and Mrs S was so shocked by those scenes she was crying.
When the film ended, no-one moved for a few minutes and the place was silent.
To this day, Mrs S won't watch those scenes again.

Haha, funny you should say that. I took a girl on our first date to Saving Private Ryan and she had to leave the cinema after that opening scene. She was fucking inconsolable, I've never seen anything like it. I assume she was crying because of the film, maybe it was my company? No, that opening scene was fucking nuts. At the cinema we were at, a old US serviceman walked up and down the aisle collecting for war hero's. That was pretty nuts too. I wonder what happened to Sarah? She was posh totty ... rode horses, had an arse you could rest a tea-cup on. Fuck ... nice girl. Heavy periods tho.

She was on the pill from the age of 12. To calm the blood. Quite bad. Posh girls. What can I tell you? She went to St. Felix in Southwold (Suffolk). (Actually Framlingham also in Suffolk is pretty fucking good, despite Ed Sheeran coming from there). By god, if there was ever a place rammed full of the best and brightest hot young posh totty I've not to find it. And trust me, I've made extensive research trips. Not really my cup of tea in truth posh girls, but they do have certain benefits. Highly sexed being ono of them. If you ever find yourself in Suffolk, do make time to visit Southwold, you'll see them and their mothers. Different league. And, if like me, you're just a bit of common rough, they'll like you. Plus, if you can do a bit of gardening or change a plug, their posh silk knickers will flood. Not with blood either.

Seen it this afternoon and loved it.
Brilliant film and there is very little dialogue and the bits you hear are often muffled.
The screenplay was brilliant, and LOUD.
Really would love to go over and see it.

It was criticised in The Guardian for its all white cast.

Hitchens hated it.
Imagine a vaccine so safe you have to blackmailed into taking it, for a virus so deadly you have to be tested to know if you have it.
