Over 2000 on a Friday at Chelmsford in April is pretty good. Not quite the one man and a dog that the media loves to portray.

My turn to apologise for sounding like the sycophants who phone in to Drive etc and say, 'Great thread guys'
It's a good thing we can discuss the County Championships as no fucker on TS will be.
All we can look forward to is nail biting tension as we await the result of the matches between those long standing sub continent franchises whose players change every year; you know, the ones we all give a shit about like the Delhi Dicks, the Hyderbad Handjobs and the Bangalore Bollock Bashers (or what ever they are called).
Of course, talking of handjobs, following the ECB's lead like lemmings, TS perceive England as the 19th / only county and if there are England players in the IPL (as there are this time), TS will deem it very important alongside their basement cubicle coverage deal they have for someone like John Norman to disappear for 8 weeks and emerge in late May looking like Quagmire in Family Guy when he discovered internet porn and wasn't seen for days, for obvious reasons, after which his left arm was three times the size of his right (just like Rod Laver's used to be, although no doubt, for entirely different reasons).

Yorkshire lose by four wickets at home to Hampshire for an early shock. Already had three teams bowled out for less than 100 and only two matches will last into a fourth day.

Ian Bell's captaincy, is it all that?
Gloucestershire bowled out for 61, should they be demoted to Minor Counties level?

Well it's Monday and I have revisited. Any more lessons about 4 day cricket to offer?
I suppose Warwks will bat all day for the draw.

Trott will see you to a 150 lead and then bowl 'em out on a bunsen burner after lunch.

Creditable draw for Essex. Now to bat like that in the first innings as well and we could get somewhere.

Poor game management by Lancashire. Pitch was getting easier to play from day 1. Should have cracked on and given ourselves a day and a half to bowl Essex out. Sounds as though we just expected to turn up and win the game today.

Just put this review of my website of the 2017 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack published last Thursday to coincide with the start of the new domestic season;

This is part of the problem too- http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/39577820
Broad has bowled 21 overs and now is required to rest for the next match. What a ridiculous situation, we don't have a Test match for 3 months but a bloke can't bowl at most 40 overs in a match in mid-April?
Good that the ECB are restricting fans seeing international players but at least they'll all play in the franchise cup in a few years time.

Will they?
From what I've read, there will only be 3 international stars per game (like the IPL), so as an aside, the question is who on earth will make up the bulk of each squad / match day line-up?
Also, the tournament will be run at the same time as the tests so the contracted England players will NOT play in the City Circus.
