Joey Barton re- visited

Post by delboy1983 »

Barton sent home

Joey Barton’s Rangers career could be over after the player was sent home from training on Tuesday until further notice.

I understand Barton was involved in a training ground bust up, which prompted the club to send him home immediately.

The 35 year old’s future will be discussed over the next twenty four hours and leaves manager Mark Warburton with a big decision to make on one of the highest paid players at the club.

The incident comes hot on the heels of a 5-1 thrashing by Celtic in which the Gers midfielder claimed ahead of the match that Scott Brown was “not in his league”.

Barton’s performance failed to reach pass marks as Celtic dominated the middle of the park. The result prompted Celtic captain Scott Brown to state it was “Men against Boys” and that his tussle with Barton was “easy”.

Rangers football club has made no comment on the story.

For a reasonably lucid bloke on media outlets, he doesn't half cunt himself over in public.

Pity Durham is off today to discuss this much maligned friend of the station
Joey Barton has confirmed to talkSPORT he has been banned from Rangers’ training ground, but has called his expulsion ‘strange’ and insisted he ‘has done nothing to apologise for’.

Reports surfaced on Thursday night that Barton had been ordered to stay away from Murray Park by manager Mark Warburton following a training ground row with team-mate Andy Halliday.

The fall out came on the back of the Gers’ humiliating 5-1 defeat to bitter rivals Celtic on Saturday.

Barton has been involved in numerous unsavoury incidents throughout his career but he insists this latest one has been blown out of proportion by the Scottish side.

Speaking EXCLUSIVELY to Jim White on talkSPORT the outspoken midfielder, who joined Rangers on a free transfer in the summer, said: “They’ve told me to stay away but there are a lot of misconceptions out there at the moment.

(Also posted in the Jim White thread)

Bob Mills - 'At least Barton has never nicked a living'.

And that's relevant how, exactly?

Every 3 months Barton gets into shit and comes on and listening to him, you'd think he was the world's best person.

People who keep coming out with the line, 'All I wanted....' are in my view, often poor communicators and not such nice guys as they are at pains to point out.

Barton is a narcissist who doesn't really seem to learn to change his ways. KP comes to mind.

If we didn't hear about him for a year, then maybe he might have got somewhere.

He also always plays everything down.

Being sent home not to return for the best part of a week is not a good thing, Joey and suggests that the issue may not have been overstated or overblown as you are inferring.

If anything, your perception of it has probably been toned down in your own mind to make you believe that you aren't the disruptive force that everyone else probably sees you as.

I suggest Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' with the caveat that you do have to show a genuine interest in other people in order to experience the benefits of Carnegie's tips, something you may find hard.

However, thanks for coming on to TS for an exclusive interview - Jim White of Talksport is very happy.

So with with his autobiography 'Mo Nomsense' being published next Thursday (22 Sept) this isn't just another PR stunt aimed
at maximizing sales?

He probably went in being Billy Big Bollocks to his team mates. They all probably hated him.
