Cheers Henry, looking forward to it ,going to Capri and may go see some cousins up in Cassino if we have time, just worried about leaving my youngest at the moment.

I went to dovedale today in the Peak District . Although it was busier than last time I went wasn't too packed and it was a nice sunny day. The path along the river was quite busy with dog walkers, but I crossed over the other side to Bunster hill which was more peaceful.

Had last week in Newant in Gloucestershire. A 'cabin' (or wood caravan) with a hot tub

Had an amazing curry at a Nepalese place, run by Ghurkas

Off to Devon in a few days - bit of exploring, lots of nice food and drink, bit of golf. Lovely

In a battle to get fit for mine. Ear infections/swollen glands (viral infection). Battles to see GPs/get some treatment. Need it all cleared up before flying.

tempted to drive down to san diego, accross to vegas and back up thru death valley

just not sure....sports car and hotel, convertible and hotel, deezil passat and hotel (big saving) or truck and keep in the back and hotel every three days, but 15.6 mpg.....

cash flow not best at the mo....but passat would be heartbreaking

Hope y'all are OK back in the ole UK. Still only half 5 here, body clock still adjusting.

Sounds like a well organised USA tour you've got there zambo - was it one you put together yourself, or was it a tour operator?
We've been talking about doing a similar thing in a year or so.
Booked a Caribbean cruise for the beginning of next year, so might need a bit of time to refill the holiday jar.

Always go on the escorted tours with a knowledgeable tour manager. Reason we tour the US is to see as much and learn as much as poss. Pros and cons to these sort of tours but we reckon it's worth it. Loads of optional excursions and free time. You can be as sociable as you want with fellow tourists.
