It's only an open goal if you have time to score, let's see who pops up to be their latest saviour.

Is that it? If it is, I'm not surprised it has been ignored. Are they just going to print more money? Or are they going to tax the fuck out if the 'rich'. You know, those who want to work hard, show enterprise, and go the extra mile to make a better lives for their families. The Tick wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 9:04 amLabour have been pitching their alternatives. As far as I can gather their answer is a windfall tax on the energy companies. One company they claimed made a windfall profit of £151b,what they failed to mention was that that profit was made worldwide. As far as I am aware the British government/exchequer doesn't have the power to tax company profits made outside of the UK.Zambo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 8:52 am Heard a lot of screaming and screeching from Starmer, demanding that we have a GE, and I could well have missed it, but has he or any of his team said what policies they have to counter the energy, cost of living crisis, or inflation issues?

I stand to be corrected of course. I also think that the sum expected to be raised by a windfall tax is £8b, whereas the funds given to families is more than £100b, that notional £8b will go a long way, wont it.

Labour are a rabble of failed high-school teachers with delusions of grandeur and pro-Palestinian views although they don't quite know why.

I think Labour are doing okay, they've kicked all the Corbyn loons out and if Starmer doesn't give Corbyn the whip back they are kicking him out as well - not sure I agree with that but there you go.
His front bench is full of slightly dull but smart people. Rachel Reeves if very credible, Lisa Nandy is a strong performer on levelling up, Yvette Cooper is very good, Wes Streeting and Ed Miliband who I found somewhat annoying have toned it down and do very well.
They have developed an aura of competent but dull - which is a winning formula at the moment.

Nope, I just detest Labour and everything they stand for. They pretend to govern for the hard working low paid men and women of this country, but they are just a bunch if hypocritical cunts.

Come on Zambo, when will you realise that anyone who supports a party other than Labour is beyond the pale?
Labour can do no wrong even when they are wrong, Labour doesn't wreck the economy even when it does, Labour doesn't leave power leaving record unemployment numbers even when they do, Labour doesn't have sex pests even when they do, Labour doesn't tell lies even when they do, Labou doesn't r have more cunts than the red light district even when they do, so how in heavens name can you NOT support Labour?

Too ashamed to admit one's toryism so goes on a "but Labour " rant. Going for the plausible deniability route.

This thread is about Labour, so there is no 'but Labour'.The Tick wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 2:36 pmToo ashamed to admit one's toryism so goes on a "but Labour " rant. Going for the plausible deniability route.
As for being ashamed, I admit I support Birmingham City, so I have no shame. At least I don't try and bring de Pfeffel or Trump into every thread like you and Sunbeam.
![Rolling eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_eyes.gif)
I follow and support no political party, they are all a shower of cunts, but I freely admit doing my bit to try and keep a Labour Government from fucking up the country 10 times more that the current one has done.

And still some feeble minded morons believe the 'no money left' note was meant as a joke, well, the incoming government found it wasn't a joking matter when they opened the books and saw just how little money there acutaly was, hence the need for years of austerity, or do some people think the austerity measures were made just for fun.
