No, that's not the main point. The point is that Streep was condemning Trump for his mimicking of a disabled reporter, but some people on here are trying to deflect by bringing up another incident and also pursuing a homophobic agenda.

It would be the main point when it is the same person. Says a lot about her, her moral compass and her judgement.

The reporter puts himself up there as well. Disabled or not. So if he doesn't like it then he should keep out of the limelight and keep quiet. If not then he is fair to talk about like anyone else.

I have to say, I find it very odd that a room full of Hollywood stars would applaud someone with a conviction like that. How did that come about - did he win a special award?

He won it for The Pianist. I think the reception was because they felt that he had been in exile a long time. So his win was deemed a surprise to a lot of people. He directed some fine films and had many friends among the acting community. I don't know, but perhaps they felt the girl was "sexually precocious".
