It depends on the genre. Korean drama has evolved over the last decade or so; everything from storylines to cinematography is more sophisticated. I prefer the slice of life and period ones.

I’m not sold on it. Just seems rather effeminate and stylised.

Some are actually true to life, such as My Mister and My Liberation Notes. I find dramas like these more relatable than our country's dramas like Happy Valley.

Funnily enough, I disagree on that front

Wait…a drama? I thought Happy Valley was a documentary??

I didn't realise it was filmed in Yorkshire. 🤭 If you liked that, you might enjoy Red Riding (2009), loosley based on true events. I loved it at the time. One for you, too, Lawns.

Nearly did once bro.

Came round the corner near my warehouse and nearly ran two of the actors over as they were filming them crossing the road.

Silly bastards didn’t bother stopping the traffic for 30 seconds :?

It was at that point that I realised that bright people probably don’t often go into television.

Some of the rural locations look beautiful. Busy these days, though, I bet:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This generation-spanning love story is inspired by Japanese pop superstar Hikaru Utada’s two songs First Love and Hatsukoi. They are separated by 19 years, but the screen story has an even wider narrative scope. Jumping between three decades, it takes in the first meeting of Harumichi Namiki (Takeru Satoh) and Yae Noguchi (Hikari Mitsushima), their growing attraction and their separation. But as the two protagonists wallow in their memories, might redemption be possible? Can their love be rekindled? It’s tasteful, idealised and at times, a little antiseptic: romance as designed by Marie Kondo.

Disney plus...Mr Inbetween.

Kind of black comedy series, Aussie gangsters/ drug dealers/ general crims....Main character is fucking brilliant!
A bit Guy Ritchie-esque..Definitely worth a watch.Very Dark, very funny

The main premise

"Ray Shoesmith, an assassin by profession, finds it difficult to juggle between various roles of a father, lover and a friend."
