C'mon the Hoops!

Me, aged about 12, scoring against a team from Carnoustie. We were down 2-0 but I scored twice to level it at 2-2 and that's how it ended. That my dad was our manager had nothing to do with the fact that I was always made captain. 8-[

This is me challenging the keeper. I got into good goal scoring positions, which was good, considering I played right-wing.

Good stuff Chris and MCS. Did your team just wear the hoops or was there an affiliation, Chris?

MCS' picture reminds me of dearly departed Jabe's Scarf thread, which had the greatest opening three posts of any thread I've read here, plus a damned good link to a site with all the different ways of tying a scarf. :(
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

I like the way the wee goalie is in the classic 'despairing goalie' postion much loved by 70s football comic covers & Gary Bailey. 8)

Shite kit though.

No affiliation, Carlos. :) My dad bought that set of strips years before and we used them all the time. Spare a thought for my mum, she had to wash them. :(

Aye, the keeper looks good in that pic. On that trip, my dad's mate went with us and he just happened to be a professional photographer. :)

We'd a set of blue strips in later years. Might post some of those pix at a later date.
