I think she tries way too hard to play up to this friendly big sister role. It's absolutely cringeworthy, as is the relentless positivity.

As the thread is about Radio 2, I thought it's remarkable given the competition how it has hung on to its massive share of listening.

It's another example of the unexploded bomb the anti-licence fee campaigners are unwittingly carrying. If 2,3 4 and 5 had to earn their living through ads the advertisers would stampede for their audiences, both in size and spending power, and in the process wipe out large chunks of the commercial output.
