The new breed of Labour supporters are worse. Quaffing champagne in a King's Road restaurant, laughing to friends "oh my god, I'm, ack'sually, like, soooo working class. Hi, waiter? Can I get the kale and pomegranate salad? I'm feeling, like, sooo vegan this week."

Most of them yearn for the UK to return to how it was 50+ years ago, so this is very apt.

Where do you get these ideas from? I have never encountered anyone remotely like that. It's about as relevant as the stereotype of the monocle -wearing Tory toff.

Eh? Parts of London are actually like that.
As for the stereotype of the monocle-wearing Tory toff, what are you talking about?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This stereotype is one of the many reasons why Labour despise the Conservatives.

Him personally yes but what you describe is not typical or common.
The great majority of Labour supporters are middle-class, homeowners , family people.
They are also Remainers, of whom there are probably about 18m now based on the polls.

You're right, it isn't common. And yet, Labour supporters (young and old) tar Conservative politicians with this brush.
Exactly. In order to survive and regain any integrity at all, Labour must appeal to home-owning, independent-supporting (independent as in personal development, success and wealth) family people. Socialism despises all of this.

Just as well they aren't socialists then.
Blair scooped them up years ago and Labour has lost touch with them since then.
It is a matter, sadly, of waiting while people realise the scale of the lying, corruption and arrogance in this government.
Why on earth did they think that after ten years in power they had suddenly noticed the need for "levelling up"? And that in the 18 months since making those pledges done absolutely nothing about that.
It is hard to find something as ironic as the Hartlepool voter who said he admired the Tories because they now had 9 food banks where there had been none before.

Which parts?
If you're referring to the area you mentioned, that's about as Tory as it gets, and one of the safest Tory seats in the country...

Oh, loads. Hampstead, Sloane Square, Wimbledon Village, Dulwich Village, Barnes, Clapham, and, in parts, Wardour Street and Borough Market.
