As soon as it happens I can think of a great replacement, if he hasn't been snapped up by others.....John Eustace
Eustace was steady, and slowly built up a decent squad, despite the useless owners. Then we get an ambitious takeover in the Summer and hopes are high. It all starts off well until Garry Cook wants a high profile manager and brings his mate Rooney in, despite a shite cv in management. They want a different approach. That's fair enough, but how naive do you have to be, to try a complete change of tactics and team formation immediately.

It has pissed the players off and also the fans.

Utter madness.

What was the rush to bring him in? It doesn’t make sense other than the fact he’s a big name.

He did okay at Derby but was under absolutely zero expectation so he essentially couldn’t be a failure.

Down to tenth since Eustace left. Three points off twentieth. Rooney had to win every match coming in, he’s under a lot of pressure now.

I think Rooney did pretty well at Derby given everything. Don't know how well he did in America vs expectations. Does feel like a name appointment.

You're probably right about his time at Derby and by all accounts he didn't half arse the job.

Sounded as though he went above and beyond given he doesn't exactly need the money. Sleeping at the training ground etc (unless Coleen had kicked him out for soliciting again  )
