That should be the chapter heading when Subbo comes to write his autobiography and covers the talkforum years
As far as I remember, wee Rory had chosen to represent Ireland in the Olympics. Then pulled put later because of Zika virus. Aha, see here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/38550663
So i was outside the pub having a fag watching the skiing through the window (no sound). The women were skiing up and down the tunnel dooing woopsy do's at the top and spinny wizz's before skiing down backwards and loop de looping at the end....,except for one girl who seemed to just erm, meander, pootled if you will, barely making the top of each run. Was it some kind of protest? Was she a mascot or something?

He's changed his tune, in that case.
When he won his first major, he proudly waved the Northern Ireland flag around, and when someone tried to hand him an Irish flag, he threw it back at them.
He's from NI, he should have represented GB & NI, end of story.
What an ignorant comment, Sub.
People from NI are entitled by dint of birth to represent Ireland or Great Britain without let or leave from nasty little John Bullshitters like you dictating to them
Glad you've got that off your chest, Pet.
But you're forgetting one small detail:

But you're forgetting one small detail:
People from NI are at liberty to represent whichever country they wish to in the Olympic Games.
If Rory McIlroy wishes to play for the British that is both his choice and his right.
Just like world champion boxer Wayne McCullough, from Belfast’s Shankill Road, was free to carry the the Irish flag when he fought at Seoul......he then won a Silver with the Irish team at Barcelona.
At the last Olympics another Belfast man, Paddy Barnes, carried the Irish flag.
And it works both ways.....Barry McGuigan from the Republic fought for Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games.
What the heck it has to do with you and why you concern yourself with it is anyone’s guess......let alone try to drag a fred about the Winter Olympics into the minefield that is cultural identity in Northern Ireland.
If the facts of the matter don’t suit your narrative that’s too bad.
But no amount of rooting around Google for pictures to try and prove a total non point is going to make you look any less ignorant or more respectful of other people’s rights and choices.
Try a little tolerance, Sub.
It works wonders for a fellow’s disposition
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Pet, you're getting very worked up about this.
The facts of the matter are that after winning his first major, McIlroy shunned the Republic flag for the Northern Irish one - that is a fact, it happened!
He's obviously had a change of heart and said that if he played in the Olympics, he would have done so in an Ireland shirt.
Fair enough, that's his prerogative.
I think your 'Liverpool Irish' obsession is clouding your opinion here, Ol' Pet...

I appreciate your stock in trade is trying to deflect an argument when it is blatantly clear you are out of your depth and haven’t a clue about the subject in hand...... which is that people in Northern Ireland are entitled to claim dual nationality and for every Rory McIlroy you mention another fellow could mention four Wayne McCulloughs, Michael Conlans, Paddy Barnes or Brendan Irvines who are more than happy to fight under and in some cases carry the Irish flag.....but this time you are exceeding yourself in silly blustering in pursuit of a last word.
(I am sure I could even find YouTube clips to prove the point but unlike your good self I am not obsessed with seeking confirmation bias on t’ internet )
But let ol’Pet help y’all out here.
A long, long time ago Confuscious was walking along the roadside when he spotted a man in a hole, digging for digging’s own sake.
He said to the man....”ah, Grasshopper......lay down your spade.....you are only digging yourself in deeper. And making a fool of yourself into the bargain”

Now.....to bring this fred back on topic, the Wee Scotch lassies are versing Canada tonight at just after midnight.
Any chance you post pictures of Anna’s lovely big eyes as part of the build up
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.
