It’s a shame the lettuce wasn’t an option.

The point of having a Home Secretary is to represent the views of ordinary people, often dismissed as morons and thickos by the "clevers", as a last resort.

In this specific case I think she spoke for the majority. The police obviously do take a Basil Brush view of Protesters: "They're the goodies, and they're the baddies", but that's for us to decide, not the Chief Constable. Someone has to speak up for us.

Like it or not, she did, IMO only of course, say what many believe about the police, whether she should have been appointed in the first place is another discussion, but at least she had the balls to say what many others privately think but daren't publicly say.

The Don?
The Don was aided and abetted by social media but Thatcher was the OG.

Police v Miners, Middle v working class under the guise of aspiration as well as smearing the left as loony, gay and vegetarian.

Tbf they've been very good at it. I recently read Braverman's wiki to get a handle on her upbringing, what parent would name their child after a character in Dallas and a drunk one at that.

Read some shit somewhere that she wanted to be sacked to prepare for a leadership bid.
She’ll have her supporters for sure. The ERG/Eurosceptic loony wing of the party. The Redwoods, Rees Moggs, Francois.

Sunak’s going to have his work cut out not to come across as a wet lettuce. It would have been better for him to keep her in her position so she would self immolate by coming out with more and more outrageous statements and alienating herself more and more. Now she’ll appeal to the knuckle draggers and make herself a martyr. What a charming woman she is.
But if the Tories take a beating at the next election, are they going to want to appeal to knuckle daggers or move more centrist?
I know it's Monday morning but come on Carlos, wake up. It isn't 'if' it's 'deffo', They will get the biggest pasting since since that wallpaper sketch at the London Palladium.

Sunak, and don't forget he started all this, doesn't deserve any kindness, he deserves all the brickbats thrown at him, and then some more.

Is he a snake? His problem is apparent, he’s weak and has no backbone. Part of a wider problem with the Tories.

How he could turn it around is if a peace treaty is agreed in Gaza, he’ll take the credit for it and Cameron will then be seen as a master stroke for getting a master diplomat in. Probably calculating that he can piss on Starmer’s chips and cut his lead.
