Watching today's programme reminded me that most sports coverage these days has far too much punditry. I know they have to fill the gaps between events, but it would be better to show highlights of previous for those who can't watch all day every day.

Them putting the medals on athletes quickly is interesting. The medal ceremony is held later in Medal Plaza.

:D

Nice how they updated the overall positions in real time, too, in the final event rather than keep everyone guessing.

Very much agree, just show whatever is live or replays. Some punditry is beneficial but ultimately people tune in to watch sport.

Take MOTD for example, if that was cut down to half an hour, who'd be against it?

Once upon a time the athletes used to just wander onto the track together, then someone had the bright idea of making them walk on one at a time, with a little video of them taking three steps forward, crossing their arms, doing a half-turn and looking Dead Hard.
Last night, for the hurdles final, they had videos of them doing a fucking dance, for fuck's sake. I was rooting for the one that must've refused do it, who got a medal, I'm glad to say.

Here's exactly what I watched, as my jaw hit the floor. From 0.43 onwards.
