Justice done so far.

Leeds played 46 games and ended up on 90 points, finishing third, 17 points more than Norwich and 15 points more than WBA. They then have to do it all again to get promotion over three more games.

The play offs are a farce and a total injustice to the team who finishes 3rd. They have earned promotion over the season, and shouldn't have to go through it all again in a lottery.

It would be stupid not to relegate a team that finished higher than third from bottom, so why give the opportunity to a team which finished 6th to get promoted.

Are you going to Wembley, Zippy? Ghost et al are expecting to spot you on telly wearing the club's garish yellow and blue shirt! 🤣🤭

If the final wasn't at Wembley, this wouldn't be half as glamourous.

Except that finishing in third place isn't a promotion slot, so Leeds haven't earned it.
All teams know at the start of the season that unless you win or come second, all that's left is a playoff spot.

I agree with you that it does seem ridiculous when the third-placed team is miles ahead of the pack, but that's how it is.

Yep, would have been a bit of a shock had it not been this game. Too close to call.

That’s it. Everyone knows the rules at the start of the season. Let’s be honest, it’s never going to change now. The National Leagues have a slightly different format giving an advantage the higher you finish but ultimately it can end up with the same scenarios.

In some European leagues they do playoffs where if the tie is a draw on 90 minutes, the higher placed team goes through. Sky love the drama and the jeopardy though so it'll never change.

These playoffs have shown just how big the gulf is between relegated teams and the rest. Leeds and Southampton both looked a level above Norwich and WBA. It's a huge gulf.

If your lot don't make it Zip, Will Gnonto & Summerville want off ?, the trouble if they do is they have done well....but its the champo not the PL , so you dont get real big money for them . We did well with Morgan Rogers 12 weeks here for 1M sold for around 16 -20 depending on add on , Villa ain CL has helped raise it right up

Yeah, I reckon those two would go. Signed for relatively little and could fetch eight figures easily - that'd satisfy the FFP needs. Summerville especially coming off a 20 goal season and winning POTY for the league as a whole should mean we'd get a decent fee and reinvest in other areas. Our owners played hardball a bit last year over some sales and we got some decent fees. I think Rutter and Gray would do another year if we don't go up. Hopefully we can somehow win at Wembley. Still not confident though.

Rogers looks a player but Boro seemed to get a good deal there. Probably funds next year's promotion push? I think the league will be wide open. Whoever doesn't go up on Sunday will be strong next year no doubt and apart from Burnley (if they keep Kompany), I can't see the other two relegated sides being particularly strong. On paper last season, none of Leicester, Leeds and Southampton should have gone down so started from positions of strength this season and this was reflected in the points tallies. I can't see the same scenario next year.
