Virgin Media

Post by Saints11 »

Looking to upgrade to sky sports HD, normal picture is terrible quality (no doubt deliberate)

501 is Main Event
532 is Main Event UHD

There are HD channels (Mix, News and Racing at 509 510 and 519)

But for the life of me I cannot see Main Event HD.

Anyone have experience with this?

IPTV is looking more attractive

Virgin Media is abysmal. I'm considering getting rid tbh.

I've probably told this story before. When I was going to the hospital I spent hours on the phone to Virgin to reduce my plan, I got rid of TV, the phone etc. I then spent almost three weeks in hospital having cancer surgery in which time Virgin changed my contract without permission only to claim I'd given them a position at a time I physically couldn't stand up. Utter cunts.

On that topic, I moved to EE for phones and broadband and just renewed getting cheaper broadband, cheaper phones with unlimited data for £400 a year less.

Been with them since they were Nynex Cablecomms and then NtlWorld.

When they put the bills up I just get on Chat and tell them what a brilliant loyal customer I am, and they knock off a wedge.

Agreed been with them for years, 24 years in the house we're in now and at least 2 or 3 years in another property, think we started with Telewest??

Same for me. I can’t remember the first name but they got taken over by NTL as per Zambo's post.
My contract runs out in August and they want a fair bit of an increase so going to have to call the “I’m going to leave” line and do a bit of bartering.

I'm with them as well for my broadband, although I'm still using my old Blueyonder email address.
Very rarely have any problems, but got the letter this morning telling me the price is going up. Time to get on the blower again.

My first foray into non-terrestrial TV was with a dodgy Astra box back in the 90s. Couldn't beat a bit of Tutti-Fruiti on a Friday night. Then after many years with Sky I had to suffer a couple of years of US TV with a company called Frontier. Yank TV is by and large terrible, so now I use a dodgy app to get all the UK stuff.

On RTL plus (German?) if my memory serves me.
