Perhaps that clip should be sent to Baroness Jenny Chapman who, it seems, doesn't know that la Rayner demanded Johnson resign even before any police investigation, as shown today by her incredulity at such a suggestion when Bob Seely told her of that on today's Politics Live. :P

As I understand it Poulter had said he wasn't seeking re election, so it's just a girly fit.

It's a bit more than that.

It's somebody immersed in both the Tory party and the NHS telling us the two are irreconcilable. Which millions of us knew.

Heard a Labour spokesman say that Poulter had done it to 'same the NHS', but, for the life of me, I cant figure out how 1 bloke who isn't standing again, defecting, is going ot 'save the NHS'.

I can't see how the NHS are going to recover. For example, how will they tackle the chronic level of under resourcing. Where are the clinicians and medics going to be magiced from?

That's the problem, the UK doesn't have the educational capacity to train anywhere near the number of doctors, dentists, nurses etc. It's also underfunded. Blair restored funding to the NHS which has been underfunded since Cameron came into power, although it may have started with Brown.

From the outside, it looks like the government has politicised everything to the point where it adopts expensive unworkable solutions to problems where they think simpler ones would be unpopular with a relatively small base that may or may not vote for them in the future. Rwanda is a good example. Stopping the punishment of people in jail to save money is another. Banning on-shore solar plants and MPs campaigning to prevent more freedom for local planners to build more houses.

I'd like to see a goverment that adopts a lower cost for greater benefit model, even if it's unpopular and has the nerve to explain the complexity of an issue and the government's limitations to solve the problem. Rather than treat us as fools.

A good chunk of the UK electorate are fools, therefore easily exploited by politicians who know how to get their votes. Looking after the nation is for wimps.

And your post adds to the discussion, does it?
Or is it just yet more off-topic abuse?
