Was signed for prior to being put to the vote.
1. Politicians agree terms
2. Terms are put to a public vote
3. Passes public vote
4. Treaty agreed and becomes law
The signing of the good friday agreement came at stage 1. So your argument is void.

The treaty was still signed for prior to being put to the vote and ratified. The signatures came first. No matter what weird spin you put on it.Vespa wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 9:41 pmIf they hadn't won the vote it wouldn't be a treaty, which bizarrely you're arguing against. The Tick wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 8:03 pmYou're trying too hard.Vespa wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:58 pmSorry you don't understand how the treaty was arranged. Again ? That's twice in 3 days, the bastards
We stood our ground on not importing hormone injected beef, which project fear said would be flooding our markets post brexit. UK farmers are pleased about the government standing up for them and there's still leftie piss boiled
3 for 3.

You want to explain that to the farmers who were protesting in Westminster? Or would you prefer to send someone else with the message instead?

A convoy of tractors protested outside Britain's parliament on Monday against post-Brexit trade deals and what they called substandard food imports in the latest demonstrations by farmers globally.
At least 50 tractors, many with Union Jack flags and signs such as "no farmers, no food, no future", took part in the protest outside the Houses of Parliament.
The farmers are demanding that the government enforce more accurate food labelling and take steps to improve the country's food security.
They also want the government to end trade deals that they say are allowing imports of food produced to standards that would be illegal in Britain and undercut local farmers.
"Time and time again they have let us down," Liz Webster, founder of Save British Farming, told the BBC. "They promised to uphold our high standards and promised not to allow Britain to be a dumping ground ... what they are doing is making us a dumping ground."
The rally follows protests by farmers across Europe who are angered by competition from cheaper imports and want stricter environmental regulations

What's even funnier (not) is the EU's free trade deal with NZ comes into force in May that doesn't include hormoned beef and all the requisite farmer and environmental protections.

Rather odd that UK farmers are protesting outside Westminster at the fact that substandard food produce is being imported into the UK from abroad, undercutting their own produce. A consequence of brexit.

Re: Post Brexit - part 21
I was mistaken about the UK trade deal with NZ while thinking about the stalled Canadian one.
Still, Webster is a farmer first and foremost and the Tories have done a fine job assasinating her character because she's a fairly effective campaigner, unlike her peers she didn't roll over and swallow the Brexit benefit load.
Just a reminder...

The Tories attack Liz Webster because they are unable to debate her actual points about how the Tories have undermined agriculture and are now painting farmers as moaners whilst during Brexit they claimed to be saving them. It's pretty easy to understand:
1. You can't get the government to explain the farmers support schemes that have replaced the EU ones. Because it's garbage.
2. They've signed trade deals that have essentially sold out British farmers by eliminating basic tariff structures for goods that are illegal to produce in the UK
3. They've adddd cost and complexity to trade with the EU
