Spent a fair bit of time on the road on Thursday and Friday and decided to whack Radio 2 on the dial given that I’m sick of TS and LBC, Radio 4 is full of sanctimonious, dull and incredibly well remunerated old presenters, Radio 5 is full of wankers and local and national music stations don’t do it for me.
Listened to Zoe Ball, Ken Bruce and Jeremy Vine. If you put away your hang ups about MOR, anodyne content with music from the likes of Tavares, Bay City Rollers, Minnie Riperton and Frankie Valli it’s actually OK. Steve Wright is a prick but an entertaining one with DJ Silly Boi and Serious Jockin’ with no G but probably just taking the piss out of the listeners and good old Sara Cox. Can’t go wrong with her.
Nothing really to get the old blood pressure racing but that’s probably a good thing these days. A very unpolitical BBC station so really not a bad thing.
Just trivial, laid back and uncontroversial stuff. Probably won’t revisit for such a long period again but good observations.
Does anyone else listen?

Since lockdown and working from home, have it on all the time and will probably miss it once back in the office. It’s easy background listening for me.
Particularly enjoy listening to Ken with Pop Master quiz and Steve. Not so keen on Sara Cox. Bit too Northern for me.
I struggle with commercial music stations. Far too robotic now.

Re: Radio 2
Ball: unlistenable, cannot talk normally
Bruce: seasoned pro, handles all with consummate ease
Vine: unlistenable screeching pterodactyl
Wright: occasionally ok but a very tired schtick
Cox: excellent, personable, terrific swingers
Dunno what happens after that? Joe whiny? Don't make me discuss that charlatan
