Hi fellas,
Eye problems compell me to buy larger monitor for the laptop, I'm considering a 27' screen, but which is better, a 'flat' or a 'curved'?
Is a curved screen good for reading or is it better for playing games, the latter doesn't bother me but I want to be able to read what's on the screen without having to make it so big it doesn't fit.
All SENSIBLE replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Is viewing hardcore porn something you do?

Can you not just enlarge the font instead. It might save you a bit of cash.birdie wrote:Hi fellas,

I wouldn't have thought there would be a lot of difference between the two screens though the curved ones are more expensive.

Re: computer monitor
I've worked in tarmac plants where they've had huge great monitors, around 40", for static displays and all of them flat-screen. I've never had any trouble reading them, and it seems to me that curved-screens are solving a problem that doesn't exist, at huge expense.
Gaming or videos I couldn't tell you about, but I see no reason why flat-screens should present any great difficulty. I know cinema screens are curved, but that's because the film has to be focussed when projected, and the whole screen has to be a constant distance from the projector.

Re: computer monitor
I hear what you say and thank you for your response, the thing is that when I increase the laptop setting to 150%, the largest it will go, I can't get everything on the desktop, but if I use the ctl fn and scroll when I get to the size I need it doesn't fit onto the screen, I have to move the screen left-right to read the whole line, so I thought that if I got a fairly large screen monitor that would solve the problem.Basualdo wrote:Can you not just enlarge the font instead. As the actress said to the Bishop I would, but the nearest big outlet where you can just browse is a 45 minute ride away and I don't have the movitavion just now.

You would spend £200 on the "advice" of one of these mental patients?

Sounds silly but have you tried reading glasses or is that what your eye problems are?
Curved screens are for gaming or filums, flat for reading.

Thanks Warm , that's what I wanted to know, as to your question, yes, I do have glasses, but as I have a life long degenerative condition which has progressed faster than predicted I need a much larger font than is normal, if you have a Kindle go to the third largest font and that is what I need.warmleatherette wrote:Sounds silly but have you tried reading glasses or is that what your eye problems are?
