Santa Cruz da Flores is a green and pleasant land,23°C today,hardly tropical but very civilised.
I was talking to a few twitchers here today, they were getting a bone on about some lost American warbler.They were not too impressed when i told them to go on holiday to america where there are fucking loads of them.
Small island with only 4000 residents,not seen much crumpet although the bird in reception is a tidy Ukranian.
Here for a couple of days then moving on to another island.
No beaches worth talking about here and no anorexic tattooed hoodie wearing chavs.

I'm thinking of walking striding edge in the lakes. Ive not done a ridge walk before but I read that's a good one to try. If the weathers not great I. I might give it a miss. Planning on doing halls fell ridge on blencathra. Sharp edge looks too scary.

Sào Jorge Island, so laid back its fuckin horizontal.No good for you lot,fuck all here but a few old buildings,fields and silence.A bit like Stornoway on a sunday kev.
Off to Ponta Delgada in a couple of days,the Las Vegas of the Açores then its on to Madeira,Porto Santo and Wigan.
