Seeing as Glastonbury these days is chock full of city bankers and the corporate crowd you would think it would be his natural audience, but as soon as they all set foot in their £2000-for-the-weekend yurts and teepees and don their Louis Vuitton wellies they all suddenly morph into Jezza Corbyn fans.........we live in strange times.

Grohl is a brilliant front man, and the Foos are not to shabby either.

Dave Grohl seems a right laugh, but you still need some tunes. They're just a generic rock band; could be absolutely anyone. Don't get it at all.

I'm a pretentious twat when it comes to music. But I think there's a place for a generic rock band, and the foos are the best at it.

I am a bit biased though due to being a massive nirvana fan at school

Nirvana were phenomenal, but to me that just highlights how mediocre the FFs are. I get all the frontman stuff, but they just don't have the tunes.

yeah even if I don't care for a band I can still recognise when they have a good selection of tunes but for such a big band they don't have many "anthems"

Outstanding stuff.

Grohl is such a brilliant, engaging front man and the Foos are great, stadium rock.

Depends on your definition of 'anthemic'. I'd define the following FF tunes as anthems. But that's me and my taste ;)

I'll stick around
Everlong
Best of you
My hero
Walk
I should've known
The Pretender

What happened to The National?

They weren't on the recording I taped.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.
