Arise Sir Rod Hull...fair play to the man. Now I understand the timing of the documentary. For services to football, charity and scoring the most consecutive winning goals against England in the 1970s...but I draw the line at those cringey BT ads in the 90s.

Cue loads of outraged Arsenal fans on why Wenger or George Graham didn't get one!

Well deserved. A loyal and passionate football man, Suarez incident aside

Should have signed for United but that aside he was a top player

+1 Carlos. Great player is overused and undeserved on many occasions, but not for Kenny Dalglish. One of the few from these isles in the last 50 years who can be classed as a football great.

If there’s something you’d like to try
Ask me, I won't say no, how could I?

You are allowed to turn them down, you know.

A Rangers fan to boot - one of their biggest mistakes ever, cocking that one up.

That's the point; we'll never know. You get offered these things and if you decline them discreetly no-one ever finds out.
It would be entirely in character for him to have done just that.

Possibly - but he accepted an OBE, and bent the knee, so he obviously had no objection in principle to honours.

I think he would probably regarded a knighthood as a great honour. He was great friends with Sir Matt Busby since their playing days, and I expect their views would have been very similar.

I'm going to have a look at Red Issue, I'm sure they will be handling this well and will be no references to the Hillsborough dead.
