Congratulations to Jimmy Anderson for his 500th wicket and his best figures today. A player who had developed throughout his career, taken the knockbacks and returned stronger.
A world-class performer, our Jim.

They don't really do that at Lord's. Much more an Edgbaston/Headingley/OT/Trent Bridge thing…

Beating a poor side like WI, will gain lead to the masking of some woeful inadequacies in the England side. The usual know nothinks will jump up and down in delight at the victory, and tell us you can't change a winning side and this is the one who should be picked for the next test match.
Not a scintilla of happiness from Zambo after the final day's Test cricket in England for another year, a year in which we beat South Africa 3-1 and the West Indies 2-1. Just the usual doom-and-gloom stuff from him, sadly.
Zambo, if you were the selector, what would be your starting XI for the first Test in Brisbane? (and try not to make them all Warwickshire players…)

Trott, Bell, and Woakes, should be the first three names on the card. Trott is English isn't he

He'd probably score more runs than Wesley, but as neither are going, the question is pointless.

Test ave of 43 with 46 tons. Westley 1 50 ave 23. You need experience down under, not fairies who bat like a rabbit in the headlights.

Averaging 22 this season, but on the fantastic wickets of Edgbaston that is presumably more akin to about 15 at any other county.
Even Hameed who we have been told all summer is 'unselectable' due to his poor form this season has an average of 28.
